Purpose and Public Benefit

ZIMAM is a charitable, scientific, and educational organization. Its mission is to:

Advance international professionalism in digital health, with focus on the Middle East and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Promote education, research, capacity building, training, and knowledge transfer in health informatics and related disciplines to improve health outcomes.

Serve as a representative and advocate for digital health workforce development at international forums and collaborations.

Foster interdisciplinary collaboration in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, telemedicine, connected care, health data governance, and the responsible use of health data.

Support innovation and entrepreneurship that drives sustainable digital health solutions.

Governance Structure

ZIMAM's governance is entrusted to its Board of Directors by the general membership. The Board holds ultimate responsibility for the organization's strategic direction, financial oversight, and legal compliance.

Members are elected by the full membership at the annual general meeting for a term of three years, with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional terms. Board members collectively set policy, oversee operations, and ensure alignment with ZIMAM's mission.
